5 predictions GUARANTEED to happen thanks to AI
If none happen in the next year, I'll buy you a drink.

The AI dam wall has burst. It’s not a matter of if things will change, it’s a one of how much is swept away and whatever’s left being completely reshaped.
I’m willing to take a punt on these 5 things being part of those changes. If I go early and any come true, I’ll carry on about how clever I am… And if none do, it’s a good thing this is only Issue 2 and we don’t have millions of subscribers yet.

First big wave of AI driven scams - Thanks to AI, “voice cloning” tech has advanced outrageously. Check out companies like Eleven Labs & Play.ai. From 30 seconds of audio I made a basic voice clone in 2 minutes that fooled both my partner and my dog.
I admit fooling partners/dogs isn’t a real metric, but the scary part is imagining what that tech (just the tech, I’m not implying either of those companies are used) could do if used for evil.
Remember the ‘Hi Mum’ text scams from a couple years ago? So much video is available on social media, providing voice samples and info on family members. Poor Mum won’t know what hit her when it actually sounds like you calling. Unfortunately, this happens in the next 12 months.

Robot Study Buddies: ChatGPT and co. now has memory. Memory of your conversations means it can be personalised to you. This means AI can be a 1:1 tutor for students that understands their learning style, strengths/weaknesses, previous grades and overall progress.
Constant 1:1 support with the smartest coach in the world will be a learning superpower. It’s here in 12-18 months.

Aus. Pol. gets taken over by AI - Take the above prediction. We should have an Aus. Curriculum GPT built by the Government. But what will happen is gun-shy lawmaking on a very sensitive topic that takes too long, giving students a bad product. This opens the door for private products that work, but at a premium price. This is bad and will continue widening the gap between rich & poor.
AI is impacting every part of life. It’ll blow past Nuclear Power, Climate Change, Welcome to Country’s, and the Housing Crisis, to become the biggest talking point at the 2028 Federal Election.
For context, Australia still doesn’t have dedicated AI legislation. We have voluntary guidelines, and a bit of chat around how we might try something like what the EU is doing, but no laws. We’re unprepared for what’s coming, so it’s going to cause a real scene.

“Real Time Marketing” goes bang. - The ability to produce great ads instantly PLUS self-serve/automatic ad buying EQUALS brand campaigns referencing what’s happening in the moment. I’m not talking about dynamic ads featuring live weather, I mean full creative campaigns with video (!) that speaks to what’s happening in the current news cycle. Aliens arrive from space today? Your full 4K TVC featuring your shoe/moisturiser/hamburger/vodka brand shot in the cosmos, will be live tomorrow.
The capabilities of AI engines like Sora and Veo are already incredible - If you have existing images of product, you can get AI to generate creative in whatever context you want. If production is instant, then brands can react instantly. This is happening before the end of 2025.

You’ll talk to Google/Siri more than your kids/partner - Apple still hasn’t released a competitor to Gemini, ChatGPT and others. They’ll do that this year. Separately, the tech behind Google Assistant is in the process of switching to Gemini (that’s already happening though).
When both happen, voice assistants are given the keys to other AI tools. Then exactly like calling a colleague in the car and working on something together, you’ll call Google/Siri and they’ll get things done. Imagine doing your expenses in the car on the way home? That’s real in under 2 years.
Quick disclaimer, whether it's these changes or others - many people will be negatively impacted by AI. That’s a bad thing, and I don’t ever want to seem like I’m dancing on graves. I think we should try and take advantage of the good and know how best to deal with the bad.
It’s a brave new world but I’m trying to give us a bit of a heads up. Let me know if you think I’m onto something, or if I should stay in my lane. And if you haven’t already subscribe to Token Effort at tokeneffort.io
